Paddling towards ecommerce growth: Palm Equipment

Palm Equipment, are a renowned international manufacturer of kayaking and paddleboarding gear based in Somerset. They came to Teapot seeking a comprehensive digital transformation to enhance their online presence and streamline operations. With a desire to migrate from their existing web solution to PrestaShop, Palm partnered with us to create a robust eCommerce platform tailored to their specific needs.

The primary challenge was to integrate their existing SAP Business One system with a new PrestaShop-based eCommerce platform, while also establishing distinct B2C, B2B (kayak), and B2B (paddle gear) storefronts.

To address these complexities, we implemented a multi-store PrestaShop solution, ensuring a unified backend for efficient stock management and order processing. We developed custom integrations between PrestaShop and SAP, enabling seamless data exchange and synchronisation. This integration streamlined sales processes, warehouse management, and other critical functions.

Given Palm’s strong brand identity, their internal team took the lead in designing the site’s core features. Our role was to enhance these designs, ensuring optimal user experience (UX) and pixel-perfect execution. We also collaborated closely with Palm’s SAP specialist to implement necessary changes within the SAP system and establish robust API connections.

The successful implementation of the new eCommerce platform has had a profound impact on Palm Equipment’s business.

Our partnership with Palm Equipment showcases the power of a collaborative approach to digital transformation. By combining Palm’s deep industry knowledge with our own expertise, we created a solution that not only meets their immediate needs but also positions them for future growth. The successful integration of SAP and PrestaShop has laid a strong foundation for continued optimisation and expansion.

"Teapot were competitive in our tender process, and their approach to understanding our business set them apart. Bringing their team from the start, they demonstrated an atttiude for finding solutions beyond just ‘winning another contract’. The B2B system has fulfilled our customers' demand for more immediate information and access to orders 24/7. The sites continue to improve as we commission more development. At each new request the Teapot developers have given on the spot insight into how to solve problems and find the simplest path to achieve what's needed. "
